Plans for the highly anticipated “Serenata For El Grande Americano” event have been scrapped following the arrest of WWE star Ludwig Kaiser.
Kaiser, who was set to headline the show under his masked persona El Grande Americano, was recently arrested on battery charges. The incident reportedly stems from an altercation in April, where a man claimed Kaiser attacked him in an elevator after a dispute over manners. Surveillance footage supported parts of the account, leading to Kaiser’s arrest and release on bond.
With the controversy surrounding him, WWE and AAA made the decision to cancel the event entirely. This is a major blow to AAA’s Noche de Grandes card, which had been building hype around Kaiser’s mask vs. mask showdown against Chad Gable.
Neither WWE nor AAA has issued a detailed statement on the cancellation, but the move underscores how off‑ring issues can derail major storylines and promotional plans. For fans, it’s a disappointing turn in what was shaping up to be one of the most intriguing cross‑promotion events of the year.
