WWE star Finn Balor has revealed that he once envisioned launching an NXT Japan, with himself and Shinsuke Nakamura leading the brand after their in‑ring careers.
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Balor reflected on his deep connection to Japan, where he trained and competed before joining WWE.
“I always kind of imagined myself going back to Japan to finish my career there. I didn’t wanna leave Japan, but I wanted to roll the dice with WWE,” Balor explained. “Maybe we can set up an NXT Japan. Paul [Levesque] might need a right‑hand man to run it… Me and Shinsuke, I think we’d do a good job over there.”
Balor admitted he fell in love with Japan during his time there, and while he doesn’t see himself returning to wrestle full‑time, he would love to spend more time in the country and contribute to WWE’s presence there.
The idea of NXT Japan has long been speculated among fans, and Balor’s comments reignited excitement about what such a project could mean — blending WWE’s global reach with Japan’s rich wrestling tradition.
